Thomson Reuters Heiress Trusts Fortune Teller's Advice to Invest in Cryptocurrency, Loses Over $80 Million in 2022 Bear Market Crash
BlockBeats News, August 25th, according to The Wall Street Journal report, Taylor Thomson, heir to Thomson Reuters, invested in cryptocurrency after following the investment advice of a psychic medium, resulting in a loss of over 80 million US dollars.
Reportedly, Taylor is a member of the Thomson family and collaborated with her former best friend Ashley Richardson to invest in cryptocurrency. After consulting with a celebrity psychic medium and other spiritual advisors, Taylor became deeply involved in cryptocurrency investment. During the bull market of 2021, best friend Ashley Richardson managed over 140 million US dollars of cryptocurrency assets for Taylor. However, the mid-2022 cryptocurrency market downturn had a massive impact on the investment portfolio, with consulting firm Guidepost Solutions estimating Taylor's losses to exceed 80 million US dollars. The company claims that Ashley executed over 450,000 trades without proper authorization, exposing Taylor to risks.
Best friend Ashley denied these allegations, stating that she conducted the trades at Taylor's direction. She described these trades as necessary for managing liquidity. Ashley also mentioned that there was no formal contract between her and Taylor, and they operated solely based on verbal agreements, claiming that she did not profit from it. This dispute has escalated into a legal battle.
